CAVEAT EMPTOR! - Blatant Forgery? A Thief Among Us? You Decide

A Clone Poldiac? Maybe, Maybe Not!
Has cloning reached a new low, or is something more foul afoot?

We've told you about lots of clones, even the ones that could better be called forgeries where suppliers have had the unmitigated gall to sign the original designer's name to their copy. The debate is on, and only one thing is sure: There's no stopping that train.

But things might have reached a new low this past week, with unexpected items popping up. First to grab attention was the Steampunk Clone, with no prototype or rendered images of clones to be found-- only photos of the original mod artist's own work, and even the brash inclusion of the image of a well-known member of our community. Next to surface was the Poldiac clone. This blogger had long maintained that the Poldiac was clone-proof due to the complexity of its design. Yet here it is. Even the beautiful Kraken Atomizer has fallen prey to this particular supplier's tactics. Has China no shame? But wait.....

Can we blame Chinese copycats for this one? The writeup has a strange but conspicuous lack of awkwardness. The usual "lost in translation" phrases are missing and the use of North American vape vernacular raises suspicion further. Speculation is that the story here could be more sinister than mere opportunistic copy-catting. We may be seeing someone much closer to home trying to cash in on the fame and popularity of certain designs that don't easily lend themselves to cloning; someone waiting to collect payments for MOQs with no intention of ever servicing orders.

We'll bring you more as the story develops, but for now we recommend great caution and restraint in any dealings involving VapeTech.
